The head of the "Free Patriotic Movement," MP Gibran Basil, received Qatari Ambassador Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani on the occasion of his appointment as Qatar's ambassador to Lebanon. Ambassador Saud conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani to Basil. They exchanged views on the latest developments and events in the Lebanese arena. Additionally, Basil welcomed Algerian Ambassador Rashid Belbaqi in a courtesy visit to mark the beginning of his duties in Beirut. Both sides emphasized the importance of developing the relationship between the two countries to serve their mutual interests. Basil also met with the head of the Lebanese-Palestinian dialogue committee, Basil Al-Hassan, in the presence of MP Jimmy Jabour, where they reviewed the committee's work since Al-Hassan assumed his responsibilities, focusing on the overall Palestinian situation in Lebanon, particularly the incidents in Ain al-Hilweh and their repercussions on Lebanon's security and political stability.
