The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabla stated that "the country is currently in a battle of choices, and our choice is Lebanon in the spirit of Imam Musa Sadr. Our fight is fundamentally national against the international game that aims to drain the state and the entity, and to tear apart the sects with the background of turning Lebanon into a quagmire, while Hochstein's eye is on the interests of Tel Aviv rather than on the interests of Lebanon." Regarding some sovereignty advocates, he said, "Washington believes that more collapse, political rift, constitutional vacuum, the fall of state pillars, corruption, displacement, unemployment, inflation, and chaos help secure Tel Aviv's interests as the basis for Washington's interests in Lebanon, which is something that some domestic parties should be aware of if they are keen on Lebanon." He continued: "It is necessary to respond to President Nabih Berri's call for dialogue without preconditions, because the country belongs to the pact and not to divisive tendencies. There can be no presidential settlement without dialogue, and there is no room for political surrender. The unity of Lebanon is a red line, and our patience is without end. A strong Lebanon is strong forever. Because matters are clear, I strongly warn against those who work sincerely for Washington at the expense of Lebanon and its people. Sectarianism is a dangerous cover for this dirty job, and promoting separatist tendencies and dividing Lebanese geography is extremely dangerous; it is akin to lighting a fuse for war. What is required is to save Lebanon, but we have no patience for the destruction of Lebanon."
