Dr. Yulia Koloda, a reproductive specialist and medical director of the "Lifeline" Center for Reproduction and Family Planning, revealed the negative effects of overeating on the fertilization process. In an interview with Gazeta.Ru, she pointed out that excessive consumption of red meat, in particular, can adversely affect fetal growth and reduce the chances of conception.
She stated, "High blood sugar levels, which result from consuming large amounts of carbohydrates, may lead to a poor ovarian response to stimulation during assisted reproductive technology programs." Furthermore, caution should be exercised when consuming soy, as some scientific studies confirm its negative impact on the fertilization process.
According to her, ensuring an adequate intake of vitamins, whole grains, dairy products, and vegetables can increase the chances of pregnancy. She added, "Seafood proteins can also enhance the likelihood of obtaining quality embryos and improve live birth rates. It has also been proven that a low-carbohydrate diet can have a beneficial and positive effect on the quantity and quality of eggs, increasing the likelihood of spontaneous conception."
