Hoshyar Zebari, a leader in the Kurdistan Democratic Party, predicted today, Wednesday, that the United States may target three factions belonging to the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" in response to the attack in Jordan. Zebari stated that "the upcoming American strikes will be different and destructive against the Iraqi Islamic Resistance axis composed of the factions: Hezbollah Brigades, Nujaba, and Sayyid al-Shuhada, who have publicly targeted American forces and their facilities in Iraq, Kurdistan, and Syria," adding that "their responsible leaders and headquarters may currently be under threat and against the government's decisions."
The Hezbollah Brigades of Iraq announced yesterday, Tuesday, that they had halted their operations against American forces. President Joe Biden stated yesterday that he had made a decision regarding the nature of the response to the Jordan attack, indicating that "we do not want a broader war in the Middle East."
