The former coach of the England national football team, Terry Venables, has passed away at the age of 80 after a battle with illness, this past Saturday. Venables' family stated in a statement: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of a wonderful husband and father who departed peacefully yesterday after a long battle with illness." Venables had previously coached several clubs, including English side Tottenham Hotspur and Spanish side Barcelona. He began his playing career as a midfielder at Chelsea and appeared as a player in two international matches for England. He also played for Tottenham, winning the FA Cup with them in 1967, and he represented Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace as well.
