Ukrainian military officials reported on Friday that "Ukrainian air defenses shot down 33 out of 37 Russian drones used in an overnight attack that damaged infrastructure in the Odesa region in southern Ukraine." The Ukrainian Southern Military Command stated in a statement that "18 Shahed drones were shot down over the Odesa area, and four other drones were downed over Mykolaiv and Kherson in the south of the country." For his part, Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper noted that "the enemy attacked the Odesa region again overnight with drones. Unfortunately, it was not possible to intercept all the strikes." Kiper added that "one infrastructure facility in the area was damaged," but did not provide further details. The attack on the Odesa region comes just a day after Russian forces shelled the city during a visit by the Ukrainian president and the Greek prime minister.
