Ali Hamieh, the Minister of Public Works in the caretaker government, posted today, Saturday, on his account on the platform "X": "As a sign of the prestigious status of the Port of Beirut and to affirm the technical specifications and capacity that it possesses, and as a step to enhance competition among Lebanese ports, the vessel 'CMA CGM PALAIS ROYAL' will arrive today at Beirut Port, marking the largest ship to dock there in its history, measuring 400 meters in length and with a capacity of 23,000 containers." He added: "It is one of the largest ships in the world, operating on liquefied natural gas and is environmentally friendly." Hamieh concluded: "Today's step represents a renewed embodiment of the confidence that major shipping companies in the world have in the Port of Beirut."
