The former Palestinian Minister of Awqaf was killed today, Sunday, in an Israeli airstrike on his home in the Gaza Strip, according to the official Palestinian news agency "Wafa" and the health ministry affiliated with Hamas. "The former Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Yusuf Salama, was martyred today, Sunday, in an Israeli airstrike on his home in the Al-Maghazi camp, in the central Gaza Strip," reported Wafa. Salama, who is considered close to the Fatah movement, served as Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs from February 2005 to March 2006. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army regarding his death.
