Carlos Ghosn: I Will Not Allow Any Thief to Sleep on Silk

Former Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn confirmed in an interview with CNBC Arab that he has filed a lawsuit in Lebanon against the Japanese Nissan company. He revealed that the lawsuit, seeking one billion dollars, was filed a month ago as compensation for the harm he suffered after spending 19 years serving the company. He noted that the damage he incurred exceeds one billion dollars, accusing Nissan of damaging his reputation and destroying his professional future.

Ghosn accused Nissan during the interview of using the Japanese judiciary to implement changes within the company, stating that it loses around four billion dollars annually compared to the results achieved during his tenure. He predicted that the company will collapse and return to its state before he managed it in 1999, suggesting that the current management is unable to extricate it from the predicament it has fallen into.

Ghosn vowed that anyone involved in what he termed a conspiracy against him would pay the price, asserting that he will not allow any "liar or thief to sleep on silk." He reaffirmed his right to defend himself, stating that he has no choice but to rely on the Lebanese judiciary, expressing his confidence in its ability to restore his rights.

Regarding the lawsuit, he clarified that the legal documents he submitted against Nissan are based on "forged documents, theft, personal accusations, and fabricated files," mentioning that a file has been compiled with facts, dates, and figures. He added that he will not rest until he proves that everything that happened to him was a conspiracy. Ghosn confirmed during the interview that he hopes to win the lawsuit he filed against the company and that his legal battle against Nissan will continue until the end.
