Retired military personnel began gathering in Martyrs' Square in Beirut to participate in protests called for by the Retired Military Personnel Gathering, aimed at blocking the roads to the Cabinet and preventing it from convening "to obtain justice and fairness." The number of military personnel has been increasing as they gathered at the entrances of the Grand Serail, amidst security measures implemented by the security forces. The gathering renewed its demands for the government "not to procrastinate or delay in addressing the issue of salary increases, and to include it as a top item on the Cabinet session agenda, following the drafting of the increase decrees in accordance with the legal opinion issued by the Legal Platform for Defending the Rights of Retired Military Personnel in all its provisions."
