Meghan Markle, the wife of British Prince Harry, indicated that she faced "appalling" abuse online during her pregnancies with their two children, criticizing the toxic atmosphere and lack of humanity on digital platforms and some media outlets. Meghan stated at an event during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas: "The bulk of the bullying and abuse I was subjected to on social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and Lily, or with a newborn." She continued: "You think about it and realize why people can be so vile... In the digital space and certain sectors of the media, we have forgotten our humanity, and that needs to change." Meghan married Harry, the second son of King Charles, in 2018, and they have two children: Archie (4 years old) and Lilibet (2 years old).
