The Iraqi government stated today, Thursday, that it "has reservations on a clause in the final agreement of the United Nations Climate Change Conference 'COP28' as it 'restricts our capabilities to fulfill our commitments to the Iraqi people and national interests.'” The government praised the efforts of Iraqi negotiators, noting that they managed to maintain the role of fossil fuels as a tool for development and prevented the adoption of texts sought by some developed countries that "harm the interests of our peoples."
