Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, met in his office with a delegation from the Union of Transit Truck Owners for external transport led by Captain Ahmed Al-Khair. They discussed procedures that could enhance the work and role of this sector in transporting Lebanese products and various goods, and its positive impact on the national economic cycle.
Hamieh affirmed that "the Ministry of Public Works and Transport will spare no effort in continuously addressing all the difficulties faced by the union." He emphasized that "the land transport sector, especially transit trucks, is a vital artery for the export of goods, which is why we have been, and will continue to work on, alleviating all the obstacles that face the operation of transit trucks, particularly concerning both external and internal competition, in addition to the issue of reducing fees." He also assured that "the follow-up on this matter is conducted with calm and deliberation to preserve everyone's interests within a framework of balance, based on enhancing the role of this sector and activating integrated work both domestically and internationally."
For their part, the union delegation expressed their gratitude to Hamieh "for the attention he gives to the transport sector for transit trucks," praising "the efforts he exerts in this regard."
