A court in Colorado ruled on the involvement of former U.S. President Donald Trump in inciting the Capitol building storming in 2021. The court noted that "Trump did not violate the oath of office, and it does not oppose his candidacy in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections." The judge ruled yesterday, Friday, that "Donald Trump can remain on the ballot for the state's presidential primary," finding that while he incited political violence during the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, he did not violate his oath through this act. The judge concluded that "Trump acted with a specific intent to incite political violence and directed the crowd towards the Capitol, to stop the transfer of power to President Joe Biden." However, the judge pointed out that there are "compelling arguments from both sides" regarding whether presidents should be included in the list of those who may be barred from holding public office.
