Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdallah Bukhayb, and discussed the outcomes of the UN Security Council meeting held in New York at the ministerial level regarding the current situation in the Middle East. Bukhayb briefed Mikati on the meetings and encounters he had, notably with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, explaining that he informed the attendees that there is a historic opportunity for sustainable calm on Lebanon's southern borders. He emphasized that Lebanon does not want war and has never sought it, nor does it seek it today.
