According to officials, five people were injured in an explosion in the city of Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, on Tuesday. Bilal Ahmad Faizi, a spokesperson for the rescue services, stated that an explosive device detonated on a busy road in Peshawar at 9:10 AM (04:10 GMT). He added that five individuals, including four children, were injured. Mohammad Asim, a spokesperson for Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, reported that two of the children are in critical condition. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Peshawar is located on the outskirts of the tribal areas adjacent to Afghanistan, which are governed by the Taliban, and these areas are often targeted by militant groups including ISIS and the Pakistani Taliban.
