The Finnish Ministry of Defense revealed that Helsinki has signed a deal with Washington to purchase American "JDAM" and "SDB" bombs worth over 96 million dollars. The ministry's statement noted, "The contract includes the purchase of 'JDAM' and 'SDB' bombs for the period between 2024 and 2030."
The statement further detailed that "in addition to the bombs, the contract includes 'Pro-61' missiles, spare parts, accessories, transportation services, as well as training and support services from the manufacturer and supplier."
Earlier, Finnish Foreign Minister Elena Valttonen stated that her country intends to sign a bilateral defense cooperation agreement with the United States next week. Under the agreement, Washington will be able to send troops to Finland, which borders northern Russia, to enhance its defense and store weapons and military equipment, among other things.
It is noteworthy that Finland joined NATO on April 4th of last year, becoming the alliance's 31st member.
