Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, during his meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, confirmed that "Iraq, as an important country in the region, can play a special role," calling for "the necessity of intensifying political pressure on America and Israel to stop the killing in Gaza." He praised Iraq's recent positions in support of Gaza, describing them as "strong and good," indicating that "Iraq, as an important country in the region, can play a special role in this regard, and the United States is directly intervening in the ongoing war." Khamenei emphasized that "the Zionist entity would not have been able to continue fighting without American military and political support," noting that "Washington is considered a partner of the Zionists in their crimes against Gaza." For his part, al-Sudani affirmed that "Iraq, as a government, people, and parties, stands at the forefront in support of the people of Gaza," and that his country "is making significant political efforts to stop the Israeli aggression."
