The Israeli army announced today, Friday, that a projectile fired by armed factions in Gaza was responsible for hitting Shifa Hospital earlier in the day, denying reports that the explosion was the result of an Israeli airstrike. The army stated in a release that "an examination of the army's operational systems indicates that a projectile launched by terrorist organizations inside the Gaza Strip hit Shifa Hospital." It added that "the failed projectile was intended to target the army's forces around the hospital."
