Pope Francis has decided to greatly simplify the complex papal funeral ceremonies and to be the first to be buried outside the Vatican in over a century. The pope, who will turn 87 next Sunday, revealed his funeral plans during an interview with the Mexican television channel En+ on Tuesday evening in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The pope disclosed that he has been "working with the Vatican's protocol chief Diego Ravelli to simplify the complex and long funeral ceremonies that were applied to his predecessors."
