Lebanese Defense Minister Discusses Sustainable Development with the United Nations

The Lebanese Minister of National Defense in the caretaker government, Maurice Sleem, met today in his office in Yarze with Alaa Abdul Aziz, the Director of Coordination at the UN Special Coordinator's Office for Lebanon, along with a delegation from UN organizations. They discussed areas of cooperation under the "United Nations Framework for Cooperation for Sustainable Development 2023-2025" that Lebanon has signed. This framework is the most important tool for planning and implementing UN developmental activities at the national level, in line with national development priorities and implementing a comprehensive package of reforms that meets the needs of the people. Minister Sleem emphasized "the ongoing and close cooperation with UN organizations, especially those collaborating directly with the Ministry of National Defense on matters concerning the military institution." He affirmed "the commitment to the requirements of cooperation with UN organizations in service of the national strategy."
