The Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan, stated that “there are no signs of stability and hope, only promises and actions without results, and every day there is a new trick to continue withholding people's money and deposits,” emphasizing that “electing a president for the republic is the key to the solution.” In a message he delivered on the anniversary of the Isra and Mi'raj, he pointed out that “there is no reason for our crises other than corruption, political bribery, foreign dependency, and dominant whims.” Deryan stressed that “saving Al-Aqsa, Jerusalem, and Palestine is a religious duty because it is waqf land (endowed property) dedicated to God and a priority for Arabs and Muslims.” He clarified that “we will not abandon the cause of Arab and Islamic Palestine,” noting that “no matter how the occupier in Palestine oppresses, a day will come when the enemy will be defeated and expelled from our holy land.”
