Tinetti Denies Media Reports About Nabatieh: We Are Doing Our Best to Calm Tensions

The official spokesperson for UNIFIL, Andrea Tinetti, responded to media reports "claiming that the international force informed the Lebanese army that Tel Aviv stated that the entire city of Nabatieh was now within a target zone." He said, "I have seen these reports, and frankly, I am not aware of any specific conversation between the Lebanese Armed Forces and UNIFIL regarding what was mentioned." He added, "We often meet with our strategic partners in the Lebanese Armed Forces to discuss various issues related to security and safety along the Blue Line, and these discussions are confidential." He affirmed that "the UNIFIL mission is doing its utmost to calm tensions and prevent serious misunderstandings between the parties (the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Israeli army), while also continuing our daily activities along the Blue Line to ease tensions."
