Twenty-three soldiers were killed in Niger in an "ambush" set by "terrorists" during a "search operation" carried out by the army in the western part of the country, the Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday evening. The army conducted a "search operation" in areas near Mai in Burkina Faso from Tuesday to Wednesday, but "during their withdrawal," a unit encountered a "complex ambush" in which 23 soldiers were killed and approximately 30 "terrorists" were neutralized, according to the ministry.
