The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Department issued the following statement today, Friday: "The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces is disseminating a statistical table regarding some significant crimes (murder, robbery, car theft, aggravated theft, pickpocketing, etc.) committed during the year 2023, which shows a noticeable decline compared to the year 2022. Additionally, /12,299/ individuals were arrested during the past year." The General Directorate affirmed that "despite the difficult circumstances that Lebanon is experiencing, its personnel are fully prepared to carry out their security duties to ensure the safety of Lebanese citizens and residents across various Lebanese territories, in cooperation and coordination with different military and security agencies. It calls upon them to embody a spirit of responsibility by cooperating with it to report crimes they witness by dialing the emergency number /112/, and to diligently apply and respect existing laws, as security is a shared responsibility."
