The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, held a coordination meeting as part of the Ministry's follow-up on all matters related to disaster and crisis management and the readiness of the governorates. The meeting was attended by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative, Melani Hoekstein, as well as the governors of southern Lebanon, Mansour Daou, and Nabatiyeh, Houda Al-Turk, along with mayors and the ministry's team. During the meeting, they discussed the existing support frameworks provided by the UNDP for all governorates and how this support can continue. In this context, Mawlawi announced the establishment of a mechanism for information gathering at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, which will be managed by the ministry itself, through collaboration with the ministry's directorates, governorates, and municipalities to form a "comprehensive and sustainable national platform," emphasizing that "this work is part of the plan established by the ministry."
