Cypriot Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos announced on Wednesday that a second shipment of aid will be sent from Cyprus to the Gaza Strip in the coming days, highlighting the growing recognition that the island can play a pivotal role in delivering supplies to the region by sea. Kombos stated to a small group of reporters, "The primary goal is to try to provide the much-needed assistance to the people living in this horrific situation." He added, "This cannot be done with a solo effort. We need a coalition of participants, and this has happened very rapidly over the past two or three weeks." He noted that additional steps regarding the coordination of maritime aid will be discussed in a phone call later on Wednesday with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, and a representative from the European Commission.
