Wall Street Opens Higher

Major indices on Wall Street opened higher today, Thursday, ahead of further remarks from Jerome Powell, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, who indicated last night that the U.S. central bank continues to expect to lower interest rates later this year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 123.25 points, or 0.32 percent, to 38,784.30 points. The S&P 500 increased by 27.62 points, or 0.54 percent, to 5,132.38 points. The Nasdaq Composite gained 115.78 points, or 0.72 percent, to 16,147.32 points.
