On International Children's Day, which falls on this Monday, the Gaza Strip mourns its children who have been killed in Israeli operations since October 7 of last year. At least 5,500 children have been killed in Gaza as a result of Israeli military operations, while more than 1,800 minors are still missing after being shot by the Israeli army. According to the Hamas government, 80% of the 30,000 people endangered in Gaza due to the fighting are women and children. In this context, the movement has called on the United Nations to protect the children of Gaza and to take serious measures to stop the mass killings, as well as to include Israel in the "list of shame" for violating children's rights. Similarly, Amnesty International urged the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to take immediate and tangible action to expedite the investigation into war crimes in Gaza. The organization added in a statement that Israeli forces have once again shown a chilling indifference to the catastrophic losses sustained by civilians due to their relentless bombing of the Gaza Strip. Since 1990, International Children's Day has been celebrated as an anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly's Declaration of the Rights of the Child and its related convention.
