"Iris," the first AI-powered school robot in India, was unveiled at a significant event in a school in Kerala. The robot provides a personalized, engaging, and effective learning experience by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence. "Iris," supported by generative AI technology, features an integrated voice assistant and operates on a chip set from Intel. In a video shared on Instagram, the robot, dressed in a traditional sari, interacted with students.
In detail, "Iris" was developed under the "Atal Tinkering Lab" project by the NITI Aayog center, aiming to revolutionize traditional teaching, respond to inquiries, and educate students from kindergarten to grade 12 through an Android system. The robot currently speaks three languages, and developers plan to expand "Iris's" language capabilities to 20 languages.
