The International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicated on Wednesday that economic growth in Qatar will continue to return to normal in the near term, following a boost from hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The IMF noted that "Qatar has remained resilient amid recent global shocks, and its economic outlook is positive." It added that there is no clear impact on Qatar from the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The IMF expects Qatar's GDP growth to reach 1.9 percent in 2024. Additionally, the international financial institution projected that the Qatari economy will grow an average of 5.5 percent in the medium term, supported by a significant expansion in liquefied natural gas production and the implementation of financial and other reforms.
