Turkey Prepares to Launch Its Local Satellite in July

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, announced that "the national satellite 'Turksat 6A' is scheduled to be launched into space in the second week of July." Varank stated in press remarks that "Turksat 6A" is the first domestically-produced communications satellite, noting that all critical subsystems of the satellite were developed locally. He added, "We are preparing to send our satellite into space in the week starting July 8," pointing out that the launch will be in collaboration with the American company "SpaceX."
