The Egyptian Ministry of Interior published a statement revealing intriguing details about a video circulating on social media showing the kidnapping and sedation of two girls in an elevator of a building. The ministry stated, "As part of the efforts of the ministry’s agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding a video that was circulated on social media showing two individuals accompanying two girls from an elevator, it was determined that on December 13, 2023."
According to the Ministry of Interior: "The mother of the two girls (residing in the area of the Third Police Station in Nasr City, Cairo) filed a report with the station indicating that her ex-husband (an accountant in one of the countries) along with others had taken one of their daughters against her will. She requested to document this without providing any further details, claiming there were family disputes between them as the girls had been living with their father after their separation until 2022, and she had obtained a custody ruling for the girls, which was implemented afterward, but she did not provide proof of this."
The Interior Ministry noted that upon conducting investigations, it was found that the father of the two girls had recruited two individuals to carry out the incident as shown in the video, and he left the country on the same date as the incident accompanied by his daughter via Cairo Airport to another country of her own free will, as confirmed by security cameras. After legal procedures, the two individuals were apprehended: "one of them is seen in the video with the father of the girls, and the other is the driver of the vehicle used in the incident." Upon questioning, they confessed to committing the act as described in agreement with the father of the girls for an amount of money.
