The Lebanese-American Council for Business announced in a statement the list of CEOs and business leaders participating in the largest investment summit in the world (Select USA 2023), which will take place from May 1 to 4, 2023, in the state of Maryland, USA. This marks the second year in a row, coordinated with the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon and in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
It was mentioned that the participating Lebanese delegates were invited to meet with Ambassador Dorothy Shea at the Lebanese-American Chamber of Commerce in downtown Beirut. The attendees discussed Lebanon's second participation in the summit and the opportunities that could arise from cooperation, starting from job creation to access to developing markets.
Additionally, the statement noted that despite all the challenges Lebanon and its private institutions have faced for years, this event demonstrates the seriousness and efforts of Lebanese businessmen to develop and strengthen ties with the United States in order to modernize and empower trade relations between the two countries.
The statement highlighted that this summit is sponsored by the White House, and, as in the previous summit, President Joe Biden will deliver brief remarks during the general session.
