Member of the Strong Republic Bloc, Deputy Strida Geagea, noted today, Saturday, that "the people of Bsharri were surprised this morning by the murder of the young man Haytham Jamil Hindi Touq, in the Shihine area surrounding Qornet El Sawda, at the hands of unknown armed assailants present in the area." She added in a statement: "Following this, I contacted Army Commander General Joseph Aoun and requested him to send a military force to the area where the crime occurred as soon as possible, to conduct all necessary investigations, and to work on arresting the criminals and bringing them to justice. This is a heinous crime that occurred in broad daylight, and the only solution is to uphold justice and bring the criminals to justice." The deputy extended her heartfelt condolences to the family of the slain victim and urged them, as well as all the people of Bsharri, to exercise patience and calm. In another statement, she reiterated her condolences to the family of the deceased, asking them and all the people of Bsharri to remain patient and calm while awaiting the conclusion of the investigations and the unveiling of the truth and justice. According to the National News Agency, the young man was killed by snipers, and the Lebanese Army is conducting sweeps of the area in search of the criminals.
