The inflation rate in the United States recorded a slight increase during February. The Consumer Price Index in the world's largest economy rose to 3.2% year-on-year in February, contrary to expectations that inflation would remain unchanged from its January level of 3.1%. The Consumer Price Index remained stable at 0.4% from January. The core Consumer Price Index, which excludes food and energy prices, increased to 3.8%. Expectations had predicted a decrease in the index to 3.7% in February from 3.9% in January.
