UAE Announces Arrival of First Aid Ship to Gaza via Maritime Corridor

The United Arab Emirates has announced the arrival of the first humanitarian aid ship to the Gaza Strip, carrying 200 tons of food and relief supplies. This initiative is a collaboration between the UAE, the World Central Kitchen, and the Republic of Cyprus, utilizing the maritime corridor between Cyprus and Gaza, departing from Larnaca port. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement the “efforts made by the UAE to garner support for the maritime corridor initiative (Amalthea) to deliver humanitarian aid to northern Gaza and ensure its success.” The ministry emphasized that “the worsening humanitarian disaster in the region necessitates adopting such a collaborative international multilateral approach to mitigate its impact promptly on innocent civilians by ensuring the immediate, safe, unobstructed, wide-ranging, and sustainable flow of aid.”
