The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, announced on Monday that Iran continues to enrich uranium beyond the needs for commercial nuclear use, despite pressure from the United Nations to stop. He added that he wants to visit Tehran next month for the first time in a year to end the "drifting away." In an interview with Reuters after briefing EU foreign ministers on the issue, the IAEA chief noted that while the pace of uranium enrichment has slowed slightly since the end of last year, Iran is still enriching at a high rate of about seven kilograms of uranium per month with a purity level of 60 percent.
