Minister of Environment in Spain

The Minister of Environment in the caretaker government, Nasser Yassin, met at the beginning of his visit to Spain with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Ecological Transition (Environment) Teresa Ribera, with the participation of Lebanon's Ambassador to Madrid, Hala Kairouz, and the head of the Internal Security Forces Institute, General Bilal Hajar. Discussions were held on areas of cooperation and support that Spain can provide to Lebanon, particularly on topics such as circular economy, climate change adaptation, and combating environmental crimes. This meeting is part of a working visit by a Lebanese delegation from the Ministry of Environment, the Internal Security Forces, and representatives from civil society, organized by the "Fiab" Foundation, which coordinates the "Community Policing Project in Lebanon," aimed at developing capacities to combat environmental crimes.
