The head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, Shahat Al-Ghatouri, revealed that goods currently piled up in ports awaiting clearance are valued at 6.5 billion dollars. Al-Ghatouri explained that "60,000 tons of aid to Gaza have been cleared since the beginning of the events in October." He noted that "the cleared shipments to Gaza include food, medicine, clothing, and blankets, and these goods are not being priced due to the urgent need for their swift release, as they are exempt from all customs procedures." He added that "these goods were contributed by the 'Tahya Misr' fund, local entities, and other countries such as Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE." Al-Ghatouri stated that the Customs Authority prices the dollar according to the official bank rate from the previous day. He mentioned that the average value of goods released has reached 200 million dollars daily since the beginning of March, supported by the Ra's al-Hikma agreement.
