Israel Approves Fuel Supply for UN Trucks in Gaza

A source in relief operations reported that Israel has agreed to allow the entry of 24,000 liters of diesel for trucks used in United Nations operations in the Gaza Strip. Relief agencies in the area state that the severe fuel shortage is hindering efforts to deliver food, water, and medicine to Palestinians in Gaza who are under siege while Israel conducts its military campaign. The source indicated that the fuel is designated solely for UN trucks and not for hospitals. Additionally, the United States has pressured the United Nations to accept the fuel. The Israeli military has not yet issued a comment, nor has there been an immediate response from Hamas. The method of fuel delivery remains unclear. Axios reported, citing American and Israeli sources, that Israel plans to allow trucks operated by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza to refuel today, Wednesday, at the Rafah crossing with Egypt. Health officials in Gaza have halted operations in several hospitals due to a lack of fuel and other supplies. Colonel Moshe Tirtol, who heads a body within the Israeli Ministry of Defense that oversees civil affairs in Gaza, stated that Israel monitors the fuel situation "daily."
