Free Invitations for the Opening of the Paris 2024 Olympics

The French Minister of the Interior announced today, Tuesday, that the organizing committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will distribute 222,000 free invitations for the opening ceremony after the authorities verify the recipients. A number of invitations will be granted to cities and other organizing entities for distribution. Guests will have to undergo a security check overseen by intelligence agencies before they can attend the event from the upper docks of the Seine River. This number of 222,000 will be added to the 104,000 who will watch the opening ceremony from the lower docks facing the Seine. The total attendance will be 326,000 spectators, which is nearly half of the initially planned number of 600,000. The minister stated that he reserves the right to adjust this figure again if necessary.
