The authority stated in a press release that it received notification of an incident at the stated location in Somalia, urging vessels to "alter their course and report any suspicious activity." Commercial ships operating in the Red Sea, owned and operated by Israeli companies that transport goods to and from Israel, have faced attacks from the Houthis, in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
