Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid demanded on Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu step down from power due to a "loss of public and security agency trust," holding him "responsible for the failure." Lapid stated on the platform "X": "Whoever has written disaster on his name, lost the trust of the security apparatus and the trust of the people, and bears responsibility for the failure, should do the only honorable thing—he should resign and let others correct the course."
In a sign of escalating disputes and objections to Netanyahu and his decisions, the Israeli Prime Minister noted the earlier refusal of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to participate in a press conference held at the Kiryat military base in Tel Aviv, saying: "He chose what he chose." Channel 13 reported a poll revealing that 76% of participants affirmed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should resign immediately or by the end of the war.
