Ministerial Memos from Al-Halabi: What Do They Contain?

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Dr. Abbas Al-Halabi, issued two memorandums. The first pertains to the Teacher's Day holiday, stating that all high schools, schools, and official and private institutes of all types and stages will be closed on Thursday, March 9, 2023. The second memorandum addresses the calculation of teaching hours for contracted teachers in relation to Teacher's Day. It mandates that official schools and high schools, as well as official technical schools, must include in their records the contracted teaching hours for March corresponding to each of the contracted teachers, in accordance with what they would have been required to teach if the closure for Teacher's Day had not occurred.
