Harry Kane scored two goals to lead Bayern Munich to a 3-1 victory over Augsburg, giving the defending champions their second win in the German Bundesliga today, Sunday. Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a record €100 million ($108 million) deal, had already scored in Bayern's 4-0 win against Werder Bremen in the season opener last week.
The England captain increased Bayern's lead with a penalty in the 40th minute and added his second goal in the 69th minute to make it 3-0. Bayern pressed their opponent from the start, but without creating significant threats until Leroy Sané's shot rebounded off Augsburg's goalkeeper and struck defender Felix Uduokhai, resulting in an own goal in the 32nd minute.
The video assistant referee intervened to award a penalty to the home side after a handball, which Kane successfully converted straight down the middle. Kane capped off a swift counter-attack by scoring again, bringing his league tally to three goals. Augsburg reduced the deficit following a defensive error from Bayern, as Dion Beljo dribbled past goalkeeper Sven Ulreich and scored four minutes from the end. Bayern now sits with six points, level with Union Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, and Freiburg.
