A meeting was held today at the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, chaired by Major General Imad Othman, with the presence of Bassam Tlais, the head of the transport unions and federations in Lebanon, leading a delegation of 20 union leaders. Also present were the acting regional gendarmerie commander Brigadier Rabi Majayess, head of the traffic department Brigadier George Ghazal, head of the service and operations branch in the Beirut police unit Brigadier Abdo Khalil, and several officers.
The meeting focused on strategies to protect the land transport sector and the necessity of enforcing laws against violators, emphasizing the importance of continuous cooperation and coordination to ensure the safety of this sector. In conclusion, Othman ordered that violators be pursued by the relevant units and expressed his appreciation for the "effective cooperation and coordination among the concerned parties in the interest of the nation."
