The Internal Security Forces' Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "on 28/06/2023, an altercation occurred between several young men inside a park in the Al-Wazzani area, escalating into a physical fight. As a result, the individual identified as H. Sh. (born in 1985, Lebanese) sustained bruises and contusions and was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment, while the assailants fled to an unknown location."
The statement added, "Immediately, specialized units of the Information Branch initiated field and investigative procedures to identify the individuals involved in the altercation and apprehend them. As a result of extensive inquiries and investigations, within hours, it was found that they had taken refuge after the incident inside one of the refugee camps in the outskirts of the town of Ibl al-Saqi. The division also identified them as being of Syrian nationality."
Orders were issued for patrols to monitor their hiding place, raid it, and apprehend them as quickly as possible, especially after receiving information about heightened tensions between local residents and fears of possible reactions from the community."
The statement continued, "On 29/06/2023, after a careful observation and monitoring operation, in less than 24 hours, the division was able to raid their hiding place within the mentioned camp and apprehended all of them. During the investigation, they confessed to the charges against them, admitting to assaulting H. Sh. due to an immediate dispute that arose while socializing in the park."
