The Palestinian Ministry of Finance and Planning indicated today, Wednesday, that it "will pay a percentage of the salaries of the National Authority employees, both civilian and military, for the month of November, amid the ongoing financial crisis." The ministry stated in a press release: "This payment, scheduled for disbursement next Saturday, comes based on arrangements between the government, the monetary authority, and the banking system," without further details.
The ministry added: "65 percent of the November 2023 salary will be paid, with a minimum of 2000 shekels, and banks are not allowed to deduct any installments or interest from this salary." The ministry explained that "the Ministry of Finance will cover the value of the advance payment of 50 percent that was disbursed by banks for the benefit of employees for the month of October... effectively making the payment 50 percent of the October salary."
It also continued: "14 percent of the accumulated arrears owed to employees will be paid up to the end of November."
