Italian Serie A club Udinese is collaborating with the local public utility group, Plenargy, to cover the stadium roof with solar panels to support clean energy in Italy. The two sides announced that the group will install over 2,400 solar panels with an average output of 3,000 kilowatt-hours per day, which will partially cover the stadium's energy needs. They are also considering adding a storage system to enhance the effectiveness of the system, which is expected to be operational in October. Plenargy has been a partner of Udinese since 2018, providing energy exclusively from renewable sources in recent years and has recently acquired naming rights for the stadium. Udinese is one of the few clubs in the competition that own their stadium, located in the suburbs of Udine in northeastern Italy.
